From the owl located five minutes from home. Talk about being at the right place at the right time: This owl caught a Meadow Vole not 20 feet from me, but it was obstructed by vegetation. Unbelievably it flew up to this broken tree stump, turned around as if to show off the catch, then gulped it whole. I always enjoy photographing a vole - especially when attached to an owl.

I'm not sure perched owl shots can get any better than this! Eye contact, detail ,prey item, environmental interest, clean BG. Print and frame, I'll be impressed if you beat this with another barred owl
Oh boy, Don't know what is not to like here. Great eye contact. The snow on the perch. The mottled background. Detail on the owl. All around a great frame.
Winner, winner, chicken dinner! You could not have painted a better perch or BKGR.
