Shot last June In Nd slough right before it dried up. We are in a extreme drought. Last year highest record levels of water and by June nothing left. We have been way above average temperatures this fall and winter too with no snow. Next week we will reach fifty degrees unbelievable. Processed with Dpp 4,Photoshop Topaz. Comments and critiques appreciated.

Beautiful intimate low angle with great view of that eye. Also love the slightly open beak and light ripples on breast. Perhaps a little more could be coaxed from shadows. Regardless, love this canvas as is. TFS

Nice image Kevin, a lot I like about this. Full reflection, sharp eye, open beak, smooth background, nice angle. A nit might be the light spot on the straight leg near connection to the body, but that's a nit. Keeper for sure.

Hi Kevin very nice , lovely low angle and a good reflection .
I do like the overall colors .... specially good to see you did not push them too much !!!

I bet there is more detail to extract from the darker areas , but good to see you did blocked the blacks !!!!

    Nice one Kevin

These are such photogenic birds. The bird and background here are exquisite; the oof reflection not so much, to my eye. Especially since it occupies so much of the frame. I might have been tempted to add some canvas on top and crop some of the reflection for a vertical presentation. Just my personal preference.

Nice one Kevin.....Very pleasing to the eye.....Looks good here, maybe the blacks near the wing tips need adjusted

Kevin, This one is a gem. I would not spend one second trying to get more details out of the dark tones. I am not sure why so many folks here have something against black BLACK

The only problem here is that the bird is too big in the frame. Do you have more room above???

Color and detail are excellent, and I don't mind the focus fall-off towards the posterior because of the engaging pose and the fact the focus is squarely on the eye. I agree you could get a bit more detail in the blacks; just was the image out to get it! Yes to more room all around if you have it.

Yes I submitted with almost full frame. I agree with you Artie on the Blacks. I tried to get more and nothing really there .Black is Black and most of the time it looks better IMO.

Way better. Now it needs about 1/2 the space off on the left. And I am with you on the black BLACKs :)

A species I've always wanted to shoot when I come over to the states but never even seen as of yet. The RP is superb
