Default Maccaroni Penguin .... in fresh deep snow

    Attached Images Attached Images

Hi folks .... I keep going with images from South Georgia .
This time a very cute penguin species ... it was a very special landing and sighting .
We went to Gold Harbour to hopefully find some Maccaronis .... as you can see we found them .
It had snowed heavy over night and was still snowing .... once we arrived . The landing was tough , straight from the narrow beach we had to climb up , hard work for the whole group ..... some did not even made it up that hill . At times we had the snow up to the tighs !!!!
But we have been rewarded with penguins .... albeit being very difficult to shoot due to the heavy snowfall .
The Maccaronis also struggled to walk through the fresh deep snow ...... hope you like it .

No problem with more from SG Andreas, it's great to see different species.

Just addn a sliver more at the foot I feel Andreas it's wee bit tight, but I do like the diagonal. Some nice detail on the snow and love the Maccaroni's with their 'comb over' hairdo's. The falling snow is cool and I do like there sever difference in the backdrop the division works IMHO. Love the way they use their flippers to balance as the walk along. A nice image from the MKIV.

Another fun image from a place I'd love to go one day. The snowy view is wonderful, and the outstretched wings add a comical element. Brown blob behind works since it reveals the snow. Image has a very wild feel.

Super sharp, and the exposure looks excellent.

My favorite pasta bird! Snow and snowing is a delight, with open arms as well. I like your composition, wonderful.

Yes Andreas, this is a very "cool" image. Would love to see this species one day. Exposure looks spot on, sharp and with lots of detail. Snow flakes add to it of course. Worth the heavy slog up the hill I reckon! I would clone out the dark patch on the lower right side of the body. TFS

Thanks folks for your kind comments ....

Steve - you are right about the bottom , should have thought about that .... no problem to add some canvas down and right to keep the balance .
