The Grey Ghost has returned to our local grassland again this winter, although I haven't had much luck with him so far. But here's a frame I had overlooked from February 2019, as he cruised the grassland just before the sun dropped behind the tree line to the west.

Beautifully captured flight, Bill. What a great winter for the Gray Ghosts. Nice wings up, clear view of the talons, and I like the scanning look.

I'd be excited to have this one in my files Bill! I really like the blurred grasses and the dark BG to make this grey ghost pop, and gotta love those eyes. Well done lookin forward to more.

Nice light and pose. Really like that background with the grasses fading away.

Works for me Bill. Nice flight pose in an unusual light v dark bkg.

Comp is done well and the last light created a strong effect.

    Great job!

Beautiful image and beautiful near-underwing detail. The best thing about it is that there are no sharp grasses!

This is one of the best backgrounds I've ever seen. Period. The distant grasses have the texture of flames! The lighting on the bird is great, and the contrast with the BG is fantastic. Composition is perfect.

The only think I'd want is a bit more head turn. But I'd still love to have this frame in my collection.
