    Default Happy New Year .....

    Attached Images Attached Images

    Hi all ....
as times are quiet here and elsewhere , I thought I can throw in some older less than perfect images of mine

Image was taken on South Georgia Island , back in 2012 , showing a male seal elephant telling other bulls to stay away from his beach sector.
I just love the way his breath is visible , due to its roaring and the cold air ..... amplified with my processing .
Framing is not ideal ... as is the IQ !!!
Nevertheless impressive to see , IMHO
Kept the colors dull as the scene was quite foggy and very flat ......

    Canon EOS 1D MK III
    EF 500 IS L
    Tripod ( I guess)

    F 5,6 ; Iso 400 ; 1/1000 sec

Processed with DPP 4 and PSCC 2021 ; slightly cropped for comp . Really wish for more room at the foot ..... but don't have it !!!

Thanks for looking and commenting to my previous posting

    Cheers Andreas

Happy New Year to you as well. I love the setting with the splashing water and the breath of course. Framing looks fine to me.

The breath really makes this along with the swirling waves and splash. Definitely gives one the realism of the setting. The bottom of the frame or lack of the foot doesn't hurt the image IMO. TFS

Hi Andreas, good to see images from the archive.

The MK3 was a great start, even if with only 10mpx and limited ISO range, but you delivered the goods, not sure if you processed it then you would have had such a greater PP image. Rotating the camera to portrait may have been the better option, but the very limited content at the foot does hurt the image, but great to have in the vaults.

Thanks Steve .... much appreciated .
Fully agree with you about vertical framing .........
The image is processed .... but the raw is not 100% tack sharp , correctly exposed though .... already taken in ETTR . More by luck ....LOL.
The fog was so dense .... i always "struggle" which route to go with foggy images .

Andreas no need to apologise about the image quality - looks great to me and if it was foggy/misty anyway I don't think you cold have gotten much better detail.
