Default Where is the krill ... ???

Hi all .... another image of the king penguins .
This time a youngster received his portion of food from an adult . Luckily I got these two isolated from the large colony .
Same location as previous image .... but a different landing site . This place is called Salisbury Plains .... a really large colony of the king penguin was breeding there . I actually forgot the numbers of them .... just maaaaaaany !!!
Weather was ... well , look at ground and the falling snow you might be able to get the idea !!!

I wish the young one would have turned the head for a look at the eyes .... but in this scene he does not . I do like the OOF colony a lot as it does give some context to the frame . With hindsight I should have gone lower for a better POV .

Thanks for looking and commenting to my previous thread

    Cheers Andreas

I like the interaction/behavior, IQ and POV works for me. I like how the pattern of the colony fades into the distance and it also shows how many hungry chicks are waiting for their dinner. Well done Andreas.

Hi Andreas, a lovely feeding behavioural moment captured here. Well exposed on the adult, sharp, and I am fine we cant see the chicks face. I like how both pop from the surrounding colony. The falling snow adds to the image. Well captured.

The background really takes this frame to the next level. You caught the perfect amount of separation between the two main subjects and the rest of the group. Exposure and details look great, and the falling snow really makes the scene. A brilliant image. You are very lucky to have experienced this!

A nice interaction. The vertical framing is nice. I like the penguins in the background. I agree they do give a nice context.

Thank you all , glad you like this one

Would be cool to revisit South Georgia ... but it is a long way to that place , the most difficulty is the fact that one has to cross the drake passage ( well for me personally) . Three days on the ocean on a rocking ship .... not my personal preferred place to spend my time , LOL.

This is such an engaging, story-telling image Andreas.
Perfectly timed to capture the behavior, and love the background characters all huddled up and hunched over.
The falling snow is icing on the cake.

A strong image to be proud of. I wouldn't change a thing!
