    Not Brians Ducks, but a great trip to get them. They winter in the big rivers in Central Oregon, a 2 hour drive.
    Takes all day to get one close enough in right light and right angle so this is the best I did.
    Big crop, a lot of fun on the Deschutes river in the beautiful Columbia Gorge.
    D500, 500mm (300 f2.8 w/ 1.7), f5, 1/2500, iso320.
    Should have been faster obviously.

    Always love flight images when just at the surface of the water. Great pose and details. I like the contrast on this subject (not sure why). TFS

    Good panning on this swift flyer. Although not bad per say, I must admit that for me a goldeneye image in sunny conditions should have the green sheen on the head to make the final, final cut. I love the wingtip almost touching the water.

    I like the wing position, angle of flight, sharpness and BG. Nice image Dan.

    Hi Dan, excellent flying angle with a good wing position. I really like how low you have captured this across the water.

    Nice to have the bird right over the water. Nice pose and framing. I would sharpen the head more.
