Ii took this today, she came a bit too close so I only leveled this, it is basically full frame..
I know people will want more room in front. don't have it, I thought the beautiful face was fine as is....

PP in Capture one where I only leveled it, WB as shot, downsized and sharpen with TK actions in PS, NR on BG because I always do, that is it.

Dan, you've had some really nice close ups recently.

Bkg is to die for here. Colors on the subject look nice.

For me, several of these close ups have had too much sharpening. Looking around the crown, back of the neck and shoulders there is a good bit of graininess and fine specs esp on the 27" monitor. I'd like to see one with less just for comparison.

Good job getting close to these different waterfowl.

What a beauty.. Love the low POV, the water is killer and the details amazing. Yes to slightly less sharpening and I'll take the amazing details in trade for the room to swim into. TFS

Yeah, pull the sharpening back a bit. But otherwise really sweet. I might think about going headshot here. You have the detail and it would partially mitigate the lack of lefthand space.

Hi Dan, She is a beauty. I can't see the "over sharpened" areas as others have above sp if you do a repost, how bout a side by side?

Here is the TIFF file sized to 1800 with no sharpening. The Tiff file is OOC, no sharpening.
Looking at them both, It is not oversharpened much to me. The TIFF is very sharp but
still needs some sharpening after downsize I think.

Dan, thanks for posting the TIF.

Took a quick crack at a mask and SS @ 68/.3, brushed down a couple spots where it got course and sharp brushed the beak a little ... looks pretty sharp to me, esp compared to the TIF?

Thanks Brian, now your repost looks pretty close to my OP which I did not think oversharpened to begin with.. but thanks.
I have a 27 inch monitor and I cannot really tell much difference, or if there is , at WEB size I am not sure it matters... but that
is the nice thing about this forum, we strive for perfection as it should be..

Love the low angle, the sharpening in the OP is dead on to my eye on my 30" NEC, no more no less. the strong low angle sun gave it a lot of punch and contrast which is natural and pleasing to my eye at least but may give the illusion of over-sharpening/coarseness
