Taken today on the Deschutes river mouth in the Columbia Gorge, Oregon.
There were Common and Barrows Goldeneyes on the river, if anyone can identify the female (Dorian Anderson)?
I think this is a Common with the head shape.

Very nice Dan. Exposure looks spot on, and I really like the details captured. I would only ask for a little more room on the LHS...a minor nitpic. The water droplets are an added bonus. Nice to see the 1.4x still captures great detail/clarity...I may invest in one!
Agree with Paul re: LHS. It isn't bad, but the line of the wing leads one right to the frame edge, so more noticeable. Excellent shooting angle. Nice bird angle, flying drops, soft background.
This is a Common Goldeneye based on the bill and forehead. Barrow's has a smaller bill and steeper forehead. Beyond that, the shot looks very nice. Great action and detail, and the low angle isolates the bird well. Droplets are great. Maybe a touch more sharpening on the head.
