    ahhh, speed demons and quite shifty! I am fortunate to have a pair in my yard and this image is of the female. Here, the lady is steppin out with a grey cap rather than the male who dons a black cap. Classic position and take a look at those talons!

    Ann, another really nice monthly theme entry!

    These are lightning quick for sure and you did great at 1/1000. Like that the perch is pretty well in focus so nice job on that too.

    You could maybe wish for a bit more profile of the head but the mood and the splash of orange made this one for me.

    Nice snowy image, Ann. Excellent pose and perch but do wish for a bit more life in the eye, as Dan mentioned. I also think the image is slightly front focused as the perch is sharpest at bottom left; detail falls off as we move up and right.

    Fits the theme nicely. I do like the pose and the perch. I like backgrounds that are more mottled than this. Either all dark green or all white.
