    Default Icicle

This is from the last winter. Conditions are the same today as they were when I took this image last year - low single digits with windchills below zero. Didn't want to venture out. Darker background further darkened to keep distractions out. Seemed ideal for B&W. I found this icing in my backyard. I was fascinated by the intricate network of air bubbles and canals inside the icicle. I had never seen them this close before.

The icicle stands out nicely against that black background. Depth of field and detail look right on.

Looks good - perhaps a little too cliched but would a droplet just off the tip look good?
