    Default Walking On Water

I captured this image from a blind at Blackpoint Wildlife Drive in Merritt Island National Wildlife Refuge on Merritt Island, Florida. Difficult light, difficult bird... the blind is positioned so that early morning light is from the side, maybe 20 to 30 degrees off angle (great for birdwatchers, not so much for photographers). The Reddish Egret when fishing runs around erratically flapping it's wings and stabbing the water with it's bill to catch fish. I did the best I could with the Adjustment Brush in Lightroom dodging and burning areas on the bird to even the exposure as best I can. Comments and critique welcomed and appreciated. Thank you for viewing.

Post processed in Lightroom Classic, Photoshop CC 2021 and Neat Image for noise reduction when needed
Cropped from 2x3 for composition and presentation

Merry Christmas everyone, have a safe, healthy and prosperous New Year

Hey .... attack , or punks not dead .
Joseph this is such a cool frame , love it . Great action and a so nice expression of the subject !!!

There is for sure an option to remove some side features in the BG for a cleaner look , but I can live greatly with them .
Nice colors and tones ... with some good range of finer details .
Very well done ... TFS Andreas

Sweet head on look at this frenetic hunter. Love those head/neck feathers and your handling of side light. TFS

Love the hairdo, and that great fishing dance/pose, Joe. I also think you handled the sidelight well.

Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year to you and Dottie as well.

Good action, and leave to the Reddish Egret offering such a "mane"! Is photographing from the blind mandatory there? Just curious...

Merry Christmas and Happy New Year as well Joe!

Joe, this is a neat frame. Despite any shortcomings (not many for sure) the eyes really sucked me in!

Seems like you handled the shadows nicely. Walking on water shots are so cool...

Do you think the spec highlights on right were water drops really close? It almost seems like they were on the lens or something. Might have considered stamping those guys.

Good work. Hope you had a great Christmas!

Hi Brian, thank you for viewing and commenting, I think the specular highlights you commented on are water drops I left them but could easily remove them. I go back and forth sometimes trying to decide. Thanks again, Brian.
