This is my resident owl that lives in my maple tree. I used a flashlight to light him up. The shutter speed is low and the ISO is at the end of my processing abilities. Hope you enjoy the image and Happy Holidays!

Lucky you, having such a cool resident... Love the framing and amazed at your use of flashlight and slow SS. Pretty sweet result, I'd say. How high up and what time of day? TFS

    ps
    Those eyes...

Thanks David. It was 814am on a dark morning sunrise is close to 8am and the owl is about 18ft up. He leaves half an hour after sunset and returns half hour before sunrise.

Congratulations on having a resident subject.

Very nice image. I would do some burning on the tree to make his more stand out.

Hi Jim ... nice to have a close by subject .
I like the `peeping from the hollow effect ` .... sadly you have to use flash for getting some light into the scene .
The flash made the image quite flat .... I would work a bit on the tree in terms of tonality to avoid the flatness and create some 3D tonal variations , to make the little owl stand out more .

I would do the opposite of what is suggested and dodge the tree to make the Owl blend
in so you have look for it... much more interesting.

Nice how the owl is tucked into the tree like that. I like the framing. Good job on thinking this one through.
