Late yesterday afternoon in a damp cold setting at a local grassland, Northern Harriers and a loan Red-tailed Hawk were launching from low cedar and smaller trees hunting for Voles. The recent snowstorm was welcomed by some wildlife and for sure this human. This capture was a split second before she pounced, and must have caught a Vole fore she didn't fly up for quite some time.

The photo definitely depicts the environment as you describe. I do like it overall. Just wish harrier would have been turned towards you a little more. But nothing you could control. I might have cropped some more but personnel taste. TFS
Hi Geoffrey,
Terrific habitat and behavioral shot. Love the layers of vegetation and the crisp tall brown weeds. Sure wish he could have looked your way, but a nice vole was priority!!! I like it a bunch, merry christmas
I really like the surrounding environment and the pose you managed from the harrier. Like others I sure wish he would have looked your way, but sometimes we got to take what were are given. Nice work!
