Very nice, sharp, excellent colors, both bird and BG.

Make that a giant crop. I love the o-o-focus palm frond (?) but that is about it. The boxy crop does not work because the bird is too low iii the frame. There are some funky reflections on the eye and the top of the bill. And the feathers in front of an above the eye are a mess. Oh, and I do like the title.

More like a massive crop. I'm suprised the image has held up this much. I like the pose and the background.

I agree with John that the image has held up considering the huge crop. Nice image David.

Hi Artie and thanks to all for valued comments. Yes, as good as Title is I also considered " a crop too far". I have found to around 30%, the crops hold up well on this sensor (kinda surprised me). The BG is leather fern.
    Peace,
    David

Quite the crop indeed! The face area seems a touch soft, but I am impressed by the feather detail on the back and flanks. I'd be interested to see the uncropped version...

FF no PP at all. Just converted to jpg. Those are some good pixels even if only 20 MP... At least compared to Rs 30MP (which is 5dmkivs sensor). Focus box was right on the eye and shield. BTW, the feathers on the face were worn off for some reason but the eye looks fine to me. Look at fine feathers right behind the face (in crop) and you can see focus was right on the eye IMHO.

No wonder the crop you chose. Thanks for posting this FF version as it gives an excellent look at what type of cropping one can achieve.
