    I like the backlit shot except the highlights on the top left. I would clone the same

    Hi David. I'm not normally a fan of backlit subjects, due to the blown highlights around the head/neck area of the bird...but I do like this one very much. Lovely feather detail here and a sharp face/bill. I also really like the foreground bokeh. Agree with removing the top left highlight section. TFS

    Hi David, I like the 'stately' pose, and against a smooth BG. Yes to removing the blown highlights in the ULC.

    Yes, that top-left corner certainly draws the eye. Fixed that, and how about darkening the image a bit like this for more drama?

    A very nice heron frame. Daniel's repost nails it. I would have underexposed this in camera to bring out that nice rim light around the bird. Nice one.
