    Default Northern Mockingbird

I guess I am impressed with this lens and camera combination. I photographed this Northern Mockingbird while driving along Ten Mile Grade Road. The bird was perched on a ugly new fencepost but I gave it a couple clicks because not much was happening. I worked on it today trying to find a pleasing composition, nothing was working until I cropped the image much more than I thought possible. This is about a 75% crop leaving 25% of the original image. Comments and critique welcomed and appreciated. Thank you for viewing.

Cropped as noted in the commentary

Looks great for such a large crop.
I find the image a bit dark as posted.
I find it very hard to get a pleasing crop of head shots of small birds but I like this.

Hi Joe, Love the pose and the way this common beauty fills the frame. Actually like both posts. TFS

Hi Gail, thank you for viewing and commenting. Looking at the image after reading your comments I agree the image was a bit dark. I raised the exposure 0.50 and did more work on the neck under the bill. I reposted the image.

Image quality doesn't look too bad for the big crop. I like the look back pose.
