    Default A flash of white...

Was walking along in the local wetlands about 10 minutes before sunrise when I heard a ruckus. From the sound alone, knew it was the local non-native purple swamp hens. Spun around wandering why they were riled and spotted this vision in white with hackles up. Quickly turned dials for exposure on those whites just before sunrise and pulled the trigger.

Nice and sharp with good detail. I would go in tighter if image quality allows.

I like the sharpness, HA and like the reeds. I might tone down the orange/yellow one crossing the beak. TFS

I like the fine plumage detail, I think I would reduce contrast and saturation of the background.

I would increase the exposure by 1/3 stop but perhaps this is how it was pre-sunrise.
I like the bullrushes behind the bird. Good HA.
I am not sure how I feel about the portion of the back showing at the bottom of the frame. One minute I like it and the next I don't!!

Hi Gail, I have a little all around except below given the small crop. With camera in hand I pointed just below the intersection of neck and body so as not to disconnect them. Definitely should have pointed further down in retrospect. Thanks so much as always for your very valued inputs.
