First time electronic shutter and loving it. So weird to get used to but catches the moments.

Hi David, love the excited look of the youngster, and great seeing one of the parents with nesting material. These are very similar to our Grey Herons.

Hi Stu and thanks for the valued comments. That's actually the female who is smaller but appears even smaller due to standing on nest about a foot lower than the male is perched upon. This is typical nesting behavior as the male almost always picks a higher landing place to impress the mate. Yes, I believe your Grey herons are identical except coloration. Thanks again...

I like the behavior you captured here David. The tight composition helps minimize the busy BG. I'm sure this will be an ongoing series and look forward to seeing more.

David I like the image very much it is what may be described as perhaps "busy" but the birds are clearly visible and more importantly their behaviour is shown very well.
(Electronic shutter - I use probably 99% of the time - no shutter count = no wear and tear!)

Yep, mate, you are preaching to the choir. My 10 year hiatus in photography was due to shutters on both 10D and 1DMKIIN. Kids (5 of them) were entering college so no fixes were had. Used to spray and pray a lot... But now I have to delete many perfect images (hard to take). Since I don't one shot anymore, I was practicing the quick tap for one image. So far, at 20 FPS, I have gotten between 1-3 with two as average when trying to only image one.. The times they are a changing....

A nice interaction and behavior frame. I don't mind the setting.
