For this shot I was laying low on the ground, the Sparrowhawk had taken its prey(Starling) into a small ditch.....so getting the low POV was crucial.....At this point the Starling was alive....The Sparrowhawk took 10 mins to kill, 10 mins to pluck, then flew off with the prey....

It was dark and you were close. The result was a spectacular image. Those eyes are to die for. Way to go.

Will, very well done to get this shot my friend. Wow.

So yeah, between the even lighting, the bits of grass coming up from bottom and your close proximity this one works nicely!

The only suggestion I could offer would be to take a peek at a version with a touch more above if you had it (I would maybe try pulling straight up from middle for instance).

    Super frame!

    Cool stuff , Will .
Love the low angle and the stare .
If this was mine I would try to get rid of the blue in the feathers for a bit more neutrality in the colors .

BTW the image has no color profile attached to it .

Hi Andreas....thanks for that. I was wondering why should I get rid of the blue in the feathers...This is the colours of the feathers...They did look too blue, and when I was processing I did lower the blues in ACR.

Hey Will .... just asking is the beak also that blue in reality ????
I was just pointing out the colors of the feathers , but actually I do not how the bird does look like in real life . So if you say the feathers are that blue ... I will believe you .

    Will:

Outstanding, in many ways. Tight crop works with this intense stare.

    Congrats
