Krishna, very peaceful feeling here. Coots don't get much airtime but I find them fun to watch. And when you can get the red eye to pop along with the crest, as you did, it makes for a good subject.

I like when you post these smallish-in-frame shots. You got the subject laser sharp and a fun canvas to work with.

For me personally, I would've smoothed/cloned the darker spots (other birds?) in the bkg. The serenity I think could be felt more prominently.

FWIW, the feathers look more grainy than I'm used to seeing. Not sure if it's a sharpening process adjustment?

Agree with Brian's comments/suggestions here. Definitely a serene atmosphere here, brought about by the lovely BG/FG. I get the feeling that the bird may be over sharpened. I'm not sure what you use to sharpen, but I would have selectively sharpened just the head/beak/eye area. It seems to me (maybe I'm wrong) that unless an image is super sharp it's not worth posting...I know it's important for the eye to be sharp, but I wonder whether the bird is that sharp in reality. Food for thought?

Just beautiful canvas overall. Love the FG and BG with perfectly OOF others. I only wish main subject was just slightly less sharpened. TFS

Good looking frame. It's nice to see these guys getting some lens time. Low angle and bokeh are wonderful. I agree about the sharpening/crunchiness. I don't mind the OOF stuff way behind. It's going to be fairly heavy-handed cloning to removed all those, so I'd just leave them. Soft/filtered light really helped you on this high contrast exposure.

    Nice peaceful scene.
I don't mind the OOF dark areas in the BG.
I like your crop and could see a version with an even looser crop.
    Agree the bird is oversharpened.
    A lovely frame,
    Gail

Feathers do not look crunchy in the RP. Love the soft tones and the image. Hated the white border in the original post.
