This is really nice Jon. Love the perch (mossy mound) he is standing on and the partially raised wings.
Details in the whites are perfect.
I only wish that dark area intersecting with the beak was not there but I would be thrilled to have this in my portfolio.
Well done!
Jonathan, a very nice canvas here.
The subject's pose with slight wings up adds a bit of interest. Love the substrate (island) it's perched on. Details are very good and I love the composition.
The frame overall feels just a touch dark. Maybe take a look adding a touch of brightness (lum) - even just to the subject perhaps.
A little more direct side lighting could have helped a touch and Gail's comment on the bkg dark spot jives with me.
A great one overall!
I really love the tones in this one. From the beautiful whites to the darkest shades of the shadowed underbelly. Same with the BG. I love the framing and wouldn't change a thing. TFS
I echo the +ves/suggestions already given. That sure is one cute bird. I really like the overall composition and the processing here...especially at iso5000. The overall brightness looks fine on my monitor, but if you do add a touch of brightness, just watch the whites on the bird. TFS
This is a sweet frame of a sweet bird. Exposure and detail looks great, and the ruffled wings add a nice touch of action. Dark rock behind is a minor distraction but this looks like a really authentic frame which depicts the bird's habitat perfectly.
