    Agree with David.Love those rocks. Can you put the 1.4 on your 100/600 at 600 and hang on to BIF? and/ or acquire them easily?

    Yes I can...the AF on the A9ii is pretty awesome

    Great light you got which that gave an appealing warmth to the frame, and the heron gave you a rather nonchalant pose, which I kinda like here. I could see a version with more room for the comp - and if this is full-frame then zooming out a bit at time of image creation would have been a good idea IMO.

    I agree with you on a bit more room Daniel, but I had a palm tree on the left and foliage on the right. My only option was to shoot between them. I do have a version with the tree and thought I might clone out the tree trunk, but ultimately decided this route. Thanks a bunch for the feedback.

    This is a really sweet frame, particularly as I have nothing decent of this common bird. Lighting, color, and detail are all excellent. I love the view of the legs. Layer feathers are money. So is the BG. I agree with Daniel that more room around the bird would help. I would also clone out the second catchlight.
