I revisited this frame for another project and decided to post it here. It was captured during
my circa-US bike-birding adventure in 2014. If you have no idea what I'm talking about, you

This species is a mostly-Siberian nester which occasionally wanders to the Western US on its
fall migration (which usually takes it to Eastern Asia and Hawaii). This is juvenile bird as
evidenced by the golden buff. In breeding plumage it'd look very similar to an American
Golden-Plover. I've seen 5-6 in California over the years.
