    Default Black Skimmer

Do I wish the far wing was a bit higher for better lighting and detail? Maybe, but I have several with more symmetrical wings and I'm hella stoked with the eye contact. I'm also pleased with the
underwing detail and the little touch of pink at the top. Perfect? No, especially with bit of the shadow on the back, but I'm gonna hang onto it for the reasons I mentioned.

    Curious what others think.....

Dorian, I think your assessment is bang on.

Keeper? Heck yes it is. Perfect? Is there a perfect score in golf?

Lighting, flight angle, backdrop all outstanding Dorian. You did very well here, beautiful man.

Very nice, I too like the pink at the top, if you have more I would use it.
Is the yellow on the underwing natural or light reflected?

Agree with comments below. Keeper, for sure, just based on light, EXP (especially the face) and the afore mentioned BG. TFS

Nice work, Dorian. Lovely detail on the bird, really nice that the eye shows. I would say about perfect exposure showing the yellow on the underwing. Thank you for sharing.

Hi Dorian .... nothing to complain from my side .
Works all very well IMHO . Nice color and tonal range .

Just the sharpening halo along the high contrast edges is a tiny bit too much visible for my taste .

Looks excellent to me as well. A touch more of that pink above would not hurt (maybe double the current space between wing tip and upper edge). Highly subjective of course, and it still looks great as is. I understand skimmers have that yellow wash at very peak breeding plumage, so it is cool to see that.

Nice all around. I like the view of the feet. Nice light and background.

As they say "ditto the positives"...no major nits from me, and yes, great eye contact, pose, and BG. I just feel the far wing is a little soft? WDYT?

Yeah, the focus point was on the neck, and that wing is angled away from us. So, yeah, it's certainly the least sharp/detailed part of the image. Nothing I did wrong, but a higher right wing would have minimized the effect. Yet another reason to get back and get a better frame!

Thanks Dorian. My recent Duck photo had the same issue with the far wing...I guess photography wasn't meant to be easy but it sure is lots of fun
