This beautiful hen was swimming from our right to left, then slowly rotated towards me as I may or may not have had some seed offerings to pique her interest. Anyhow, this is full-frame and I thought the comp offered just enough good "tension" to the image between the placement of the subject / body angle / head angle, without feeling unbalanced. Some may feel otherwise - and please do not shy away from saying so...

I love the inquisitive look and the soft colors. Did you have the whole head reflection in the original capture?

Love the peachy fg/bg; the direct stare; your signature POV; and the terrific FF in-camera composition. Out of curiosity I gave the bird a 10% boost in contrast and a 5% dose of Sharpen AI, to give it just a bit of pop. I liked the result, but I also like the slightly more subtle look that your images often have.

Yes, not much to dislike here. Lovely soft feel/atmosphere due to the soft colours as Artie points out. Would have been interesting to get the full reflection but... cropping even more off the bottom and LHS would also work for me. Another Cadieux success!

Daniel, superb IQ as usual for you.

The color palette is fantastic and love the straight on (mostly) view here.

Coming from one who prefers a little contrast it feels maybe the slightest bit thin to my eyes. But I wouldn't complain much as it's a beautiful canvas.

Might also like to see a version with a touch pulled down from UL corner.

That color in the water and the background makes this one for me. Nice how they just melt together.
