Default Roseate Spoonbill in flight - Side view.

Captured this morning at Ding Darling. Canon 1DsMII, 600mm f/4L on Gitzo 5540/Wimberley Head, f/4, 1/8000, ISO 200, -2/3 EV (histogram validated). Light was starting to get a bit intense, but the last few spoonbills were taking off, so I stuck it out. I liked the dead-on side view of this one for some reason. The water BG helps too I think. Plenty of nice flight captures today.

    hi Bob,

I like the profile flight capture. I would re-post this image at 200kb as 70kb is hurting the details and dynamic range. The light looks good and the pano crop works well. Re-post it and see how it looks!

Nice exposure and clean BG. Wish the wings were all the way up.

Very nice flight image Bob with lovely color and good detail in the feathers and also a very clean and pleasing BG.

I'm with Maxis, there are jpg artifacts in the BG and I would love to see a repost. Light and colors look good.

Sorry guys, here's the repost. Had to rebuild my desktop system, and haven't got all my configuration mods in yet. Had to re-do a whole batch of Photoshop work due to settings :-(

I was looking at original, and it actually looks pretty good. You know me, I hate sharpening. This is "as is" from the camera, with no sharpening. I'll add a touch and re-post tomorrow. Too tired tonight.

PC rebuild was not due to failure. It was just time. No data loss, as it was scheduled. I'm a Systems Engineer by day, so I rebuild at least once a year just to clean up the system. It's just a hassle getting all your applications set back up the way you like them.

I know exactly how you feel. I used to build them.

    I can't want to see the re-post.
