Hi Jon, nice reaction, but sadly it's flying away, get Barney to work from the other side towards you.

Overall it appears massively dark, also have you tinkered with the FG water???

PS Are you aware there is a new lens on test????

Steve, I was quite happy with exposure but after seeing your version it does look a little dim I must admit. i suppose I must have been influenced by the recent weather - very dim. Foreground water - may have applied a slight dodging mask.

Turn it off, it looks odd and not natural.

Jonathan. I like this one, but it's a shame it's flying away from you. The other thing I'm becoming more critical of in my own photos are the shadows. I much prefer to try and get a better angle so that the sun is behind me to avoid the shadows. I also like the sense of movement shown in the front wing.

  6. Thanks Jonathan Ashton thanked for this post

Yeah, this one had limited potential because the bird was well past you. Face is nice and sharp. Bummer he's looking away. Shadow across body is tough. It sucks to toss frames on account of shadows, but I'm doing more and more as time progresses.
