    Excellent IQ and details.
    I like the "dopey/sheepish" eye!

Joe, I really like the expression on the Anhinga here. The sort of lazy eye look makes it look like it maybe had a little too much cough syrup, if you get my drift ;-)

Actually really like the composition too.

You know I'm wondering, if you look at the tip of the feathers all throughout the photo, it seems like maybe there was a bit too much sharpening? I don't get to the coastal areas often so I've not shot this species, but it appears maybe theres just a touch of graininess/crunchiness on the feathered areas.

Otherwise this is a great, fun frame for me!

Dude looks high AF! red eye is appropriate. Love the color, detail, and behavior. Feather detail is money (doesn't looked over-sharpened to me) and the throat pouch is awesome. I'd love to have this in my headshot collection!

Like this pie-eyed portrait, Joe. The Anhinga is such an expressive bird. Exceptionally sharp detail. I'm sure it's because most people know your mastery of the Nikon 80-400mm lens, that they may have assumed this portrait was captured with it.

Love the soft light, the sharpness, and of course, the open bill. There is a tiny halo on the last inch of the upper feathers of the neck. Otherwise ti looks perfect to my eye.
