Love the pose, water, plumage and soft light. Would like slightly brighter but small patches may have been hot. Quite a nice consolation prize, I'd say. TFS

Nice framing here. I like the raised foot. Detail on the bird looks pretty good.

Pose, stare, and feather detail are really nice, but the lack of contrast between subject and surrounding hurts. This would be a cracker on blue, but I'm rally picky about light and use the cloudy days for birding versus photography.

Thanks Dorian: I may add blue and see what happens, but I'm fine as is. So, you don't photograph on cloudy days?

I guess it was a slow day for ospreys... you handled the exposure well but the subject doesn't have much oomph as Dorian mentioned. pretty much any bird will look much better under sun light than overcast but some are especially challenging in overcast conditions like this egret.

Slow day...yes, but yesterday afternoon proved very fruitful with the Osprey...not too happy with the slightly harsh side lighting though, so won't post any shots. Your feedback regarding the overcast lighting conditions is noted and appreciated. Cheers.
