Hi John — Nice to see a different specie from you .

I liked the tight frame and details are looking pretty good. Nice call on DOF , even though the bkg is not ideal but still it gives nice sharpness to the Bear from end to end.

Blacks appear a bit strong in the shadow areas , I think you extract a bit more detail from the ear.

Still you have done a good job if you see the lighting conditions.

    TFS !

Good job John, I like the morning dew in his coat. I am fascinated how do you get so close to the deer and the bears are you in your car or in a blind?

Nice tight portrait of the bear John, I like the light and details. Agree on the blacks being a bit strong. Good techs.

    Hello John,

Great pose you captured here, and an awesome sly look from this bear...had he given me such a beady eye I would have seriously backed off

Well composed, nice DoF, love the head angle. As well as the rich coloring of the bear's coat. Good detail on muzzle and nose, darker areas seem to lack detail to some degree and fur appears a tad coarse in places. BG a little saturated IMO.

This is a wonderful frame Jon, and you can easily fix any issues mentioned here in PP. I guess I am beginning to sound like Steve, but 'bear' in mind, I had the same issues myself and still need to be reminded from time to time

Really enjoying your posts, keep them coming please!

    Kind regards,
    Gabriela Plesea

Hi John ... a nice side profile portrait .
Lovely light and the richness of the color and tones are working well .
The blacks are a tiny bit to dense for me .

    Nice one , TFS Andreas
