Brian, I think this is a non breeding drake, or eclipse plumage. I don't think the hen has any green feathers.... a big Whoa!!

Dan, I actually don't agree but it's ok, we don't have to. If the duck were rotated just slightly I believe the primary flight feathers would come almost exactly in line with the anterior wing. That said, to get the iridescence bouncing off of the rear of the wings I would take 0.5 degree past me :-)

Love the BG, sharpness and wing position.
He is slightly angled away from you by a degree but that is a very very minor nit.
    PP work is excellent,

Gail, appreciate your comments thank you. As I mentioned to Dan, this one feels super close to dead even to me but take what it gives I guess.

Very nice flight frame of this drake. Now all you need is one in breeding plummage. I see what you did with the title. Love the color on those wings.

Hi Brian...Looking good mate. Love the feather detail and colours...Great flight pose. The BG colours compliment the bird...Re the slight angle away...If you 'moved' the pupil nearer to the left of the eye, I reckon it would make a difference. But, very nice as is...Well captured.

    Hey Wesley,

Sharp, the perfect downstroke wing position, and a killer BKGR. As per the discussion above, there are two distinct issues.

#1: is the bird past you, that is, if you drew a line from your lens to the bird's head would the angle be 90 degrees (exactly even with you)? Would it be more than 90 degrees (past your position)? Or would it be less than 90 degrees -- still coming at you. It is very hard to tell because the bird is angling a bit away from you. That said, I think that the bird is ever -so-slightly past you.

#2: The bird is slightly angling away from you -- draw a line from the bill tip to the (virtual) spot between the feet and it is clear that that line would be past parallel to the imaging sensor. Just a bit.

IAC, it is a fine image and I WIWM.

    with love, arite
