Hi folks .... still lurking in the Nxai Pan folders in my machine .
This time one with more pleasing warm colors , this large pride of lions was hanging around the waterhole the whole afternoon ... after arriving around noon .
Not much was happening .... till they went for a drink in very late afternoon , and then again settling down for a rest .
So I got this youngster getting up ... to walk to the loo .

    Canon EOS 1Dx II
    EF 500 IS L II + 1,4 TC
    HH

    F 6,3 ; Iso 1250 ; 1/2000 sec ; man exp and auto iso and full frame

Processed with DPP 4 and PSCC 2021 , removed some grass blades from the image

Thanks for watching and commenting to my previous posting

    Cheers Andreas

As per usual very pleasing processing colours and tones look excellent, the subject(s) don't appear to be engaging with me so whilst it is good "quality" it does not really get my attention.

Like Jon, I'm struggling a little again on this one, but it definitely needs a tad more below, no question, LHS is right on the cusp I feel. The light looks tough, based on those HL's, just and no more. I might have gone less contrasty and pushed the colour more, to me it's a tad kinder to the overall look & feel.

Thanks Jon and Steve for your comments , much appreciated .

Steve - light was tough , as you correctly stated . So I keep things somehow strong in terms of tonality .... already balanced things out to a degree . Thanks for your RP , but does not work for me at all .... too flat and form inside the subjects got lost . Agree with you a bit more below would be better .... but it works as the main subject is not cramped in the frame , so I am ok with my version .

    Cheers Andreas

Fine, just feel the contrast is adding for a more ‘contrasty’ look and feel to my eye, hence going softer overall.

Indeed Andreas, that's why I would never ever use a 4k monitor for PP, great for video, but less so for photography.

Nice light and setting. I like the pose on all of them. Nice detail throughout.

A nice sighting am sure Andreas. Strong light but you managed well. Nicely processed with good techs.

Hi Andreas -- in terms of content nothing very grabbing , but i do like your processing ( true to the time of the day and lighting conditions) and IQ is looking quite good.

    TFS !
