From this summer with the D850. Cinnamon Teal pair.

In a perfect world would not be blue sky but I thought it pretty enough to share.

    D850
    600mm + 1.4x
    Handheld
    ISO 1000
    1/4000
    f6.3

LR and PS. I did move the female up a touch in the frame for better presentation.

Plain blue BG does not bother me at all here as the two subjects draw and keep attention to them. I love the details and patterns on the blue wing patches. In an impossibly perfect world, the female's lower wing would be opened even lower...but who am I to complain about this as I wish it was mine.

Hey Brian, looking good. Very nice image ot this pair of teals. The only thing that would make it better Dan mentioned about the wing. Thank you for sharing.

Whenever a person gets 2 birds in flight that are sharp in the same frame- its a good day!
I would sharpen the female's head a little bit more but otherwise I am impressed with this fine image!
    The drake looks fantastic.

Beautiful flight frame. I agree with Gail; two birds together with good (not perfect) wing positions and sharpness is always a treat. I'm particularly envious of this one, since this species has pretty much eluded me. I don't know if you have tried Topaz Sharpen AI, but in it's "Focus" mode I wonder what it would do to the hen, in a low opacity?

Thank you each of you for your comments and feedback.

Agreed on a bit more sharpening on the hen's head.

Bill, I haven't tried it recently no. Some of the output I have seen from it was less desirable on the web but probably worth a shot.
