This year was lousy for fall shorebird migration, but to make up for it, fall warbler migration was decent. Always a trade-off! Here is one of many Palm Warblers that were roaming within the changing sumac leaves during a particularly productive day. The leaf at left almost looks like a "palm" too...
Canon 7DII + 500mm f/4 II + 1.4TC III, manual exposure, evaluative metering, 1/1000s., f/5.6, ISO 1600, natural light, handheld, about 80% FF, the branch cutting behind the bird's head has been lightened (dodge tool), and a couple of small "imperfections" within the leaves repaired via spot removal tool. NR to the BG.
Just love, love the color palette here.
The BG acts as a really nice foil to the plainer warbler but matches the yellow vent nicely.
As always, good IQ and processing.
This is nice as presented but I could see a version with the stem curving behind the tail removed,

Gotvtonlove bthe Fall colors here Dan and a good look at the palm warbler. It's difficult to frame a small bird amidst the many branches but this is very nice.
