    Default gold for the goldfinch

Taken in my yard, a regular at the feeders. This guy was perched on the honey locust branch and my only shot was to shoot into the sun and grab onto the golden yellows from the lit trees behind... I have been using my 500mm PF and put it in the basket of my garden cart when i'm out working in the yard rather than being tethered to the tripod and the 600mm.

Cleaned up a few minor dust spots, denoise, sharpened.

    Hi Ann,

Liking all the gold you found, including having a nice glow from side back light. The exposure on the Goldfinch is spot on. Couldn't ask for a better background.

Super shot, with lovely perch and clean BG. Good pose and HA of the bird. Nicely done.

Ann, This is such a pretty shot. I absolutely love it.
The breat BG, lovely single leaf are so nice.
I love images where the bird is in the shade and the BG is lit up.
Maybe a tiny bit more sharpening around the eye area?
    Well done,
    Gail

I suppose it would be impossible to naturally see a breeding plumaged male goldfinch with this very same setting!! This one works, I love it. Very appealing fall image.

Sweet shot, with lovely colors and a very effective, simple comp.
