Hi John, this is a really sweet image, nicely framed and for once, I don't mind the rather dark tree line. There is just enough for the legs at the foot of the frame and the alert, head to camera look is cool. Adding some NR, a slight Curves adjustment and some tweaks in the HSL, nothing complicated, brings it all together.

Looks great to me John, (I don't see any significant noise Steve?) the alert pose and staring straight down the lens really holds my eyes.

It's in the dark BKG Jon, indicates the image was perhaps under exposed????

Yes I saw that but I find it acceptable.

Very nice pose and habitat John. Love the alert pose and eye contact.

Hello John,
Your timing is always good and I think you got to know your subjects extremely well...Must say, that " what are you doing here, why are you following me ?! " look from the doe just makes the image for me
You have already received some pointers regarding processing and I think Steve is right, you could easily add more 'pop' here. What I would also like is more at the bottom, feels a bit tight for me.
Kind regards,

Nice image John -- Loved the inclusion of habitat and the dark bkg sets the subject well apart.
I would have loved to see no cluttering behind the head, may be a bit raised head , not entirely in your control though.
nice one, TFS !
