Very privileged to have found this lioness and her two 7 day old cubs, their cute baby blue eyes have only just opened which occurs any time between 6 to 10 days.
Lions often use a secluded marsh such as this to hide their cubs for their first few weeks of life. Just metres away was her sister who was also nursing 2 cubs of around 4 weeks of age.
Very rarely does one achieve any sort of clear view with cubs this young, mum will always take advantage of heavy cover to hide them until she moves them again within a few weeks.

Such a special and wonderful few days documenting both mothers and their cubs.

    Namiri Plains, Serengeti-TZ.

Bean bag front pax seat, slight crop for comp, TK adj's, curves, levels in ACR & PS CC'20.

Hi Marc, what a lovely sight and special moment captured! The little one with the eye just open is priceless. The little paw and the calm look on the other one is awesome. Nicely composed with sweet light. Thanks for sharing with us.

Nice to see the little ones all tucked up against mom. A tender moment for sure. I like the framing and that sweet early morning light.

Oh my, they are really tiny! And the little paw, too cute! Love the expression of content from the cub on the RHS

Lovely light. Must have been difficult to shoot with all the grasses, Marc. I like the way the cubs are 'nested' against mom...special moment indeed!

    Kind regards,

Oh WOW, so cute. And they are very small.

I liked the composition here, very nicely done , must have been challenging to frame them. Loved those tiny eyes as well.

    Nice colours and details.

    Very nicely done, TFS !

I was fortunate to have an opening where mum comes and goes, flattening all that grass & marsh granting me a bit of a window to shoot through.

Precious little things, I adore them. Shared this with my staff at the pharmacy today... you should have heard all the "awwwws" and "aaaaahs"
