    Default two hummers

click on the photo to see it full size.

We are discussing back-lit photos in the Eager to Learn forum, which reminded me of this photo I made several years ago. It certainly is not what you expect to see when viewing pictures of humming birds, so I posted it here.

Due to circumstances, it will take a lot of time for me to find the original info on how I shot this. Is it worth it?

I know it was shot with a Canon 20D,
300mm with Canon's least expensive zoom lens
    and probably at ISO 200

I am looking forward to your comments and critiques.
    Cheryl

I don't know what the problem is. I'll try it this way. I did a little bit of saturation in PS, but not much else for this photo.

I think it needs more cropped tighter, especially on the right side.

Cheryl this isn't a bad start on a silhouette but a few things could have made it better. You've got a few areas where the light is really white hot and you want to try to avoid that - possibly using a small amount of fill flash might have evened it out a bit. You certainly got some great poses and I like your crop - your BG is even really nice. I think you just need to work on some more even lighting so the darks aren't so intense and your whites aren't so hot.
