One of the very few shorebirds I've photographed this year, this after last year's best ever for me! The water levels were simply just too high along my favorite spots this year. Still a fun time with this individual, which was very cooperative (often the case with juvenile shorebirds).
Canon 7DII + 500mm f/4 II + 1.4TC III, manual exposure, evaluative metering, 1/640s., f/5.6, ISO 800, natural light, handheld, almost FF (about 90% FF), removed minor debris from the beach via spot removal and patch tools, darkened the whitish area at right via burn and sponge tools.
Agreed with Bill on the pastel greens carrying throughout the image. Your birds never lack detail IMO and that's also the case here. The front foot forward position is great.
Did you by chance clone something in UR area of the frame? It appears like a large oval shaped blotch and on the upper side it's a fairly abrupt transition with a small white fleck. Could just be my eyes.
I never tire of seeing these sweet little birds.
Love the striding pose and the green algaeand kelp on the sand. The little toenails are a wonderful bonus!
Great POV as always.
Image has a soft, ethereal quality.
