    From the Sonora Desert Museum in Tucson, in 2015. Let me know if I've mis-identified him, but I believe this is right. (Not a species I had seen before.)

    D7000, 500f4, ISO 2000, 1/2000s @ f/7.1 manual.

    Whats not to like Bill especially that long branch and then some more on the small branch protruding upward. Just beautiful all the way around high key and negative space. TFS

    Hi Bill, you are correct, i always think of the throat feathers as a purple mustache to help my identification. Wonderful comp on this high key image, perch and the tippity top hummingbird. Wish there was evidence of the colored throat here, but an impactful small in the frame capture. BTW, that museum is just wonderful and i hope to get back one day.

    Love the way you cropped this Bill...It would look real good printed large. Nice details on the bird and perch, and a lovely pose on the bird.
