"Pinned" , Nickerson Beach Long Island

Here is another image of the fight Joe and I witnessed at Nickerson beachon July 3rd. These 2 went at it for 20sec in a pretty brutal battle. Look at the one on the bottoms beak kicking around in the sand.

    D3, 600vr, x1.7, ISO400, f8, 1/1250, Gitzo 3530, Wimberley Head.

This is quite the interaction, great timing! The head in the sand and the other one standing on its chest put it over the top for me. I would only go for a slightly wider crop.

I love it, graet action shot, love how well frozen are the movements, although a few whites look burn, I am in a laptop so it could be my monitor, besides that and a preety much wider crop, I love it and I would love to have this in my archieve :)
    Congrats!

Besides the incredible timing and action I love the over of feel of this image . The soft OOF grasses in the BG gives this a very artistic look. Love it George !!!

    Congratulations George,
Very well done...I love the intense action. The soft defused background compliments the bird. Keep them coming Mr. George...

Lovely image. Lot of details. I like the catchlight in the eye of the victor. The head in sand says it all.
