Classic woodpecker image. Nice to see the tail. Looks all fluffed up for the cold. The snow is always a great bonus.

Just wonderful framing, details, colors and tones. The HA is just fine for me as it is a clear view of the face and eye. TFS

It's not often we see an image of this species with snow. Nice details and accurate colours. The eye looks to need a bit of work - perhaps there was an oof snowflake right on it? Anyhow, super image of this woodpecker!

Bill, a pleasing frame to the eye. Agreed on a Flicker in snow, neat to see.

It looks exposed nicely, perhaps a touch steep view shooting up the tree? Composition as a whole works well for me.

Otherwise, other than Daniel's comment on the eye it's a nice one to view.

Thanks guys. I agree about the eye. I had done a little (too much?) eye work on the original, and then gone back and on top of that, brightened the entire head. This resulted in the iris being overly bright. I knew it looked a bit funky and should have addressed it before posting. Here's a RP that is probably a bit more realistic. Brian, the POV is not really steep; the bird is slightly above my eye level, but not by much.

Beautiful Flicker in winter, Bill. Love the classic pose, slight head turn, both the falling snow and some on the tree bark.
