This is one I captured last week from the shore near to my hometown....The top is a sandy shore on the opposite side of the bay...Wasn't sure to leave in or take out...

Lovely flight shot with good flight angle, wing position; and nice bayside environment. I didn't mind the sandy shore, but after trying a bit of browser crop, I think taking some off the top allows the attention to go more to the bird. Bird looks sharp, but I'm wondering if just the slightest touch of additional sharpening would be even better. Or not?

A nice flight frame of this willet. I like the pose. The rocks at the bottom give a nice anchor.

Hi Will, indeed a nice flight pose!

The composition works well for me and I would probably be more focused on the wave in LR and land appearing in LL than the upper sandy shore, but works as is too.

Concur with Bill's comments on sharpening, specifically on the head.

Love the whole composition and flight position Will. Personally I like the sandy shore at the top...it frames the bird in a way. TFS

Great flight pose. Yes to a bit more sharpening on the head. I am betting that Topaz Sharpen AI would do miraculously well with the TIFF file for this one. It even determines if the problem is Focus or Motion Blur. See the blog post here. Use my link on the blog to save 15% and get a free copy of my Topaz Getting Started Guide. If you'd like, shoot me the converted TIF via large file sender to samandmayasgrandpa@att.net and I will have a crack at it.

Is the bird Eurasian Curlew (Numenius arquata)? Assuming that it is it must be a young bird with that relatively short bill. Any flight shots of its mother or father?

    with love, artie
