Juvenile white-tailed kite. These birds are very skittish and difficult to approach. 1200mm is a must when shooting kites which makes it very unforgiving if there is slightest amount of heat shimmers or smoke in the air. Although the perch is not quite ideal I went for this shot because there are few times you can get close up details on this small raptor

    shot with my A9 II and 600 GM + 2X TC (1200mm) ISO-1600 f/8 at /3200sec. hand held. processed with C1P.

Beautiful juvie, love the colors and the complimentary BG w the touch of green there. messy perch is what it is, curious about what is ?"hanging" from the bird at the start underneath of tail feathers...

Beautiful light and color, good pose on the bird. I'll forgive the perch, given the beauty of the bird and background.

Beautiful bird, wonderful color palette. Your usual spot on techs. I guess I would wish the out of focus near branches were not there but they could not be avoided. Thank you for sharing, Arash.

Nice of the bird to perch on the top like that. I like the light and the framing. Detail looks very nice.
