    I captured this image early morning Wednesday this week at Circle B Bar Reserve in Polk County, Florida. Comments and critique welcomed and appreciated. Thank you for viewing.

    Nikon D500
    Nikon 80-400mm F/4.5-5.6 VRII AF-S ED, camera and lens supported by a monopod
    1/2500 F/5.6 Matrix Metering EV 0 ISO 220 Auto 1 WB, image captured at 400mm
    Post processed in Lightroom Classic, Photoshop CC 2020 and Neat Image for noise reduction when needed
    Cropped from horizontal to vertical for composition and presentation

    Love the pose and the vertical framing works very nicely. The blue is great as well.

    Alert pose is very nice, sharpness is crazy good, and eye contact is great. On the flip side, I wish I could see his tail as he looks a bit egg-like as is. Foliage behind is sufficiently blurred but a bit much for my super-minimal tastes. I think it will still work for most though.

    Crop works well but I would loosen it
