    I captured this image at Circle B Bar Reserve in Polk County, Florida. Comments and critique welcomed and appreciated. Thank you for viewing.

    Nikon D7000
    Nikon 80-400mm F/4.5-5.6 VR AF-S ED, camera and lens supported by a monopod
    1/640 F/5.6 Matrix Metering EV +1 ISO 1400 Auto WB, image captured at 400mm
    Post processed in Lightroom Classic, Photoshop CC 2020 and Neat Image for noise reduction when needed
    Cropped for composition and presentation

    Hey Joe, this is super cool, the contrast of colour, HA and detail really work oh so well!

    Just a thought, but adding a Curves Midtone so you are utilising quarter, mid and three quarter tones to get some tonal range in the subject, but then punch up the BKG. The overall colour really pops.

    Color, detail, and feathers work beautifully, but I'm really, really missing the tail. This frame feels caught between a headshot and a body shot.

    Love the color here that blue is great. The pattern in the feathers is very nice. I like the preening pose.

    Joe, never seen one in person but this one is very pretty on screen. Really nice preening pose, sharp and nice balance with the multi-color bkg.
