You should have added a bit of sky - don't want to be in a compositional straight jacket do we
Super image wonderful subtle tones throughout, why did you want paw prints in the otherwise clear snow? I must confess they don't trouble me but I am unsure if they add or detract do we need them to tell us the bear was walking?

Having the law ‘in’, might have been a bright idea at the time Jon, but on reflection more sky, less FG probably would have been the better route.

A very good evening to you, dear Steve.
First of all I would like to apologise for my long absence here in the forum - been struggling to come back due to a number of issues, some work related and others of a personal nature. Miss photography and the Wildlife forum tremendously, but must admit I have not been able to sit down at my computer and process an image in a very long time.
As you know I recently managed to take a few days off and went to Kruger Park, my first break in twelve months and it was awesome to be among wildlife again. Thought of you and wondered when will you be able to see your polar bears, I know you miss them.
This is a beautiful image with lovely colours and tonality as well as beautiful detail. I also like the pose and body language from the bear. Interesting composition, and perhaps a little unusual... but somehow expected from you, because you like to experiment and explore all possibilities...Which is why I like your work so much, it is thought provoking and never boring.
The presence of paw prints is a good thing, IMO. They break the monotony, bring some balance, without them the FG would disappear.
Would normally end my comments with 'hope to see some more from you' but instead I'll say 'I have a lot of catching up to do'
Have a lovely rest of the week, Steve
Warmest regards,

A nice view of the polar bear in it's polar setting. This one looks a little fluffier than the others. I like the ice.
