Only thing better than a lifer is a photo of two of them. I watched these two Great Crested Grebes for ages hoping they would come together with the tips of the beaks touching, but this was the best I could get. i also have one of the heads together but facing the opposite way...yet to edit that one. The only thing would be to get them closer, so as not having to crop as much. Cheers.

Love the interaction , the framing, the low POV and the details. Looks like you could get a little more out of the shadows, including eyes. A fantastic canvas overall. TFS

Thank you David (as always). I did apply a little lightening to the eyes, but I'll try to get more. Cheers.

I would have loved to see this image with out background ripples ( Which mean getting water level). More sharpening required on the birds.

Thanks Krishna. I got as low as I could due to the raised ground adjacent to the water. I'm happy with the overall sharpness, but will take another look. Cheers.

I like the grebes but not the ripples!
I also feel that the color balance is off in the image. The grebes brown feathers seem a bit reddish to my eye.
How big of a crop is this? I just feel like the IQ is not up to snuff.
Cool to see the webbed foot on the right bird.

Thanks Gail...yes, a fair crop as they do not seem to want to get closer to me (despite being as low as i can and still as i can). It was early morning, no sun and a little overcast. I'll go back and check the WB again.
