Leave it to a Green Heron to pull off such a quirky pose! Such clowns at times. This was a post-stretch semi shake-down.

Canon 7DII + 500mm f/4 II + 1.4TC III, manual exposure, evaluative metering, 1/400s., f/5.6, ISO 1600, natural light, handheld, small crop (about 80% FF), minor rock clean-up (a couple of "gifts" left behind from ducks).

It's like someone's changing the batteries in his back! I'd ideally like to see the head/eyes separated from the body, but the direct stare really makes this work. Gangly legs are fun too.

Greenies are always fun to photograph after they finally move! Mid shake brings him to life and I like the clean BG and full frontal.

    Cool capture Daniel!

Nice job on the dof, slight wing motion is kinda neat, beautiful bkg gradient. Really cool how the green in the face and the legs match on these.

Cool shot Daniel. Always good to be ready with finger poised on the shutter for something special. Lovely BG. TFS

Killer good as expected. What's he standing on? I love how the colors of the perch go with the young bird.

Spot on per your ususal. A interesting pose. The vertical framing works very well. The green strip atop the background is quite nice.

    Thanks everyine!

Artie, it's standing on a rock sticking out of a pond. The rock has some odd hard build-up on it.
